As we start a new year, we turn our thoughts to technology. It seems every year brings some exciting technological advances - and we are sure that 2010 will be no different in this respect. But what cool, fun and new techy gadgets and changes will we see? Let’s talk a bit about what we’d like to see:
More intuitive search features at websites. We know you can search by keywords or phrases. It would be ideal if this could be somehow taken a bit further. If the website and programmers “knew” you were looking for other things.
More 3-D effects. We’ll admit that we’ve always liked the animation and 3-D effects you can currently see at websites all over the World Wide Web. We’d like this to be taken a bit further, making the 3-D really “pop” and feel more realistic, as if you can just reach out and touch the screen and you are right there! Just imagine a kids’ educational video game with those type of 3-D effects!
A directory of social networking sites. It seems as if a new social networking site pops up every time you turn around. The Web 2.0 technology is ideal for businesses to use for promotion and customer retention. But how to pick and choose among the social networking sites? It would be ideal if there was a directory of the social networking sites available, so you could review social networks by type and current size (# of members).
What technological changes would you like to see? What changes would you like for 2010?
